If we don’t taste the autumn and winters in our lives, we wouldn’t rejoice the spring season. Similarly, if we don’t undergo adversity, we wouldn’t be thankful for prosperity. Season change, our mind oscillates with those changes. With each seasonal change, we change, even if we don’t notice it.
It is currently winter here. The mornings are frigid and ultracold. The nights are numbing and shivery.
When winters unfold, mainly the things that popup in minds are; the excitement of the new year and all the opportunities and adventures associated with it. In the western region, winter is the season that considered a holiday season. Every other person there winding up of their task and duties for the love of holidays and new year, so that they will enter in the new year with recharged mind and spirits. Kids getting excited about Christmas bliss. For the gifts and all the joyous stuff, the season has to offer.
Contrary to this, winter is a gray and dreary season too so many in terms of gloominess and isolation. Most of the people tend to believe that winter brings the blues, a bout of illness and makes you feeble. To them, when winter arrives and it’s cold, it’s really hard to stay interested in outdoor activities. It specifically leads you to the “curl up” mode and makes outdoors kinda out of reach – Human hibernation is the word!
However, winter has something whimsical to offer no matter where you are. It holds out so much more than that. There are more reasons to cherish the winter season than to hate it.
Winter season brings people together, we yearn for warmth, love, and connection. The holidays bring on family meals, endless gratitude, family movie nights while snuggling in warm toasty duvets, endless game nights and an exuberant euphoria far even to list.

• Why winter is the better season?
I always look for the winter season for so many reasons. As compared to other seasons I make quality time to work on my pending plans and projects more easily in the winter season. In the summer season, just the thought of going out makes me feel dull and uncomfortable, as I start sweating the minute I walk out the door until I come back in. Going out in winters never gave me the feels of irritability and tiredness as summers persist. This is the first and foremost reason why I consider this season, a better season.

Through this obvious shift in the season, some people feel a certain gloominess in the atmosphere during the winter period. They feel sluggish, slower and less motivated to get things done. It is a dormant season not only for humans but for plants and animals too. They all face the temporarily devoid of outdoor activities.
• Show up and break the isolation.
Due to the gloominess of the weather, to so many, going out isn’t as easy or enjoyable as in other seasons. It bounds humans in their homes. They become unhappy because of isolation and they completely shut off their outside activities.
So it is important to find a way to deal with it and I can’t think of a better way to recharge your minds and bodies and get company yourself by spending quality time with your friends and family. Meet people and get mingle as much as you can.
Plan family cooking nights and movie nights, arrange coffee parties, invite your friends over lunch or tea. Also, going the library does wonder during winters.
Pep up your surroundings and engage yourself in some home projects. Decorate your home for the love of winters, for the new year celebrations. Find more reasons to celebrate and make this season a memorable one.

• Move it and pose it – A boon to ourselves.
A daily workout routine and exercise helps out to ease depression and anxiety. By practicing mindfulness meditation and yoga makes you feel physically active throughout the season.

Sunshine plays an important role in combating the winter blues. Lack of sunlight decreases the serotonin levels in the body which leads to depression and anxiety. Serotonin regulates the body’s sleep-wake cycles and the internal clock. It helps to reduce anxiety while boosting well being and happiness. So, go outside and soak up the sun, it can be such a metabolic booster and relaxing to your soul.
