So where should I start?
Every season has its own story, own taste and vibes. Winter is my favourite season. I love so many things about winters and I am sure plenty of others also.
Here are a few things that I adore about winters.
• Cozy corners with vintage quilts.
I have this beautiful memory of childhood when during winters after having dinner, we all family members used to sit in a room with have moongphalis eating session while watching TV shows. Yum! I miss those days.
• Suitable clothing.
Once Alfred Wainwright said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.” And I strongly agreed with him. The key to relaxing in winters is the suitable clothing for the season.
• Scented candles and dry fruits.
Scented candles and an untouched bowl of crispy dry fruits. My second favourite thing about winter.
• Tote bags.
I love to keep tote bags and in winters, it’s a customary thing, filled with tiny essentials because you can’t crawl out of your blankets.
• Toasty cups of coffee and cold hands wrapped around the mug.
Warm drinks in winters are LIFE. Coffee is my personal favourite.
• Dim lights while flipping pages of old tales of wonderland.
I love reading books and novels and I always prefer reading in a wonderful ambiance and for this, I love fairy lights because they give you this cozy sort of feeling and I LOVE that.
• Cozy sweaters.
Especially the hand-knitted ones. Winter is the best time to wear sweaters and coats, they really get you in the winter feeling.
• Movie marathon with siblings.
Binge-watching Hallmark movies and it’s literally a treat to watch Home Alone in this season. It is a Christmas classic. Just three words. I LOVE IT!
• Soft music that takes you to another time and another place.
Listening to music while diving into warm duvets. Songs that bring back good old memories and good times.
• Winterish mornings.
Waking up colder than you imagined in the chilly mornings.
• Self-care in winters.
There’s nothing more relaxing than attempting self-care in winters. Taking good care of ourselves is the key and there are no surviving winters without lotions, moisturizers and lip balms. So, if you’re looking to indulge in some self-care or want to fix a skin issue, head to your kitchen that’s where you’ll find out your skin regime. As I love to whip up pantry ingredients for my skin to fix. There’s no better remedy than a homemade and natural DIY’s.
Never-ending chitchat sessions beside a fire, a touch of a friendly hand and a caring ear to listen.
• Prayers in winters.
Prayers in winters. The greatest accomplishment. To perform ablution with the freezing water in the midnight and then feel warmth by the beauty of Fajar and Tahajjud prayers. Nothing more beautiful than that.
• The sound of the kettle.
The sound of the kettle as you make tea, drinking quietly in your warm bed.
• Heated blankets and peaceful sleep.
Falling asleep under the heated blankets while listening to the pitter-patter rain on the roof.
• The library aisle.
The library does most of its business during the winter season. Winters are the perfect time to linger, read and relax.
The sunrays that peak through your blinds in the morning.
• Winter holidays.
The most awaited thing in winters is finalizing the pending plans.
• New year.
The new year is the best thing about winter. New year excitement about new goals, new plans, and new beginnings.
This is what we live for.
Let me know what are your favourite things about winter and if you can relate to any of mine. I would love to read.
Happy winterish shorter days and coziest long nights! ♡
