“…..Life is like an old time rail journey, delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.”
- Jenkin Lloyd Jones
I decided to start my article today with this realist and truest saying of “Jenkin Lloyd Jones”, which I’ve mentioned above. I read it somewhere and it just tucked into my heart. This saying will surely describe my article at its best.
The mundane concerns of regular life, the messier side of life and the nitty-gritties of life which is actually restful in its own way. People always complain about that they couldn’t get time to rest, to slowdown, to savor the moments. Because the life is running so very fast nowadays that everyone is in a rush to become better than one another.
The reason alot of people are unsatisfied today with their lives because they’ve a lot of choices. They bind themselves to the never ending cycles of suffering, wordly desires that prevent them from achieving lasting happiness.
Do you ever realize that our parents, our ancestors were this unhappy and unsatisfied with their lives?
Certainly not because they were raised in that way to live a simple and meaningful life. They built their small little life with their community and were happy.
Without peace of mind happiness can’t be found from money, fame or material possessions. The peace of the mind is definitely the primary cause of happiness.
I strongly agree with the fact that life is a bit rushy place to live in it but there is something beautiful in the seemingly mundane. As I always say that all we need is a change of perspective, to change our mindset to see beyond the things, to find out the deeper meaning of the entire existence.
Routines are so helpful for my mental sanity but whenever I feel tired and suffocated by the same hectic routine every other day and by working like a robot. As I do work 16 hours a day, every single day (because my life demands it) I always make time to slow down and remind myself that maybe I am living the most strategized days of my life lately and as life is speeding up I will become the biggest hustler in the future.
Needless to say that we people became a consequent complainers about life.
Hence these complains shall remain continue with life. Force yourself to slow down. Sit in the silence but don’t whip out your phone. Observe birds chirping, wind blowing. Take and savor every moment.
Imagine what it would be like to not have your eyesight to see and feel the beauty of life? Always be GRATEFUL for what you have.
In the midst of all the hustle bustle of life, you just need to listen to your heart and notice that background music in your life and perceive that special ‘feel’ in your surrounding which makes your life even more beautiful. Whatever comes your way you must feel grateful for getting to be ALIVE and having that experience. Life is too short not to indulge every once in a while.
Would love to read your thoughts on it and more importantly share with me
how do you deal with the messier sides of life?
